ABOUT FLOR
Flor is a Miami based artist. She was born in Argentina and came to the US at the age of 21.
She studied psychology and has been always interest on Freud’s emphasis in childhood as a decisive factor in the development of a person and in Jung’s collective unconsciousness and the assimilation of the shadow as way of psychological integration.
The use of masks and costumes is a constant in her work where she portrays, many times with humor and cynicism, how adults cover up their essence as a survival tool.
Her art reflects, through childhood, the opposites that coexist. Light and darkness live inside humans as well in the world that surrounds them. Childhood’s innocence mixed with its dark solemn side, is her main subject.
Flor is a mixed media artist. She was awarded the Best Emerging Artist prize in 2012 at Miami Dade College
